My mom dumped me at the Franklin County Animal Shelter when she was moving and did not want to take me with her. I was purchased from Petland on West Broad in Columbus when I was almost 3 months old for $999.00. The paperwork says that I should have been AKC registered but all Petland gave them was a registration for "United All Breed Registry and Pedigree Service"  my parents were AKC registered the rescue can tell that by their registration numbers on my paperwork.

I gave my mom 7 wonderful years only to be dumped at an animal shelter during the holiday season! Too bad I did not mean as much to my mom as she meant to me! I am 30 pounds overweight and heartworm positive! I will have a thyroid test to see if that is part of my weight problem prior to being treated for the heartworm! Hopefully I can be ready for adoption after the New Year! I just pray someone will want to adopt an old Great Dane!!

Update December 10: Well I have good news, I do not have a thyroid problem so my obesity was caused just from improper feeding and yes overeating! I am on a strict diet and yes I am losing weight and I am feeling better. I actually am able to run an play a little. It has been decided I should lose a few more pounds before starting heartworm treatment.

Update January 20: Last week I received the first of my heartworm treatment and I did not feel to well for a couple of days but now I am feeling better again!! I have to wait 30 days to receive the next step in my treatment! It would would have been nice if my mom had cared enough about me to have me on heartworm preventative from the beginning!! Oh well as the other dogs have said it is us dogs that suffer not our neglectful owners!

Update April 23: Well my time has finally come I am READY for adoption!! I am now heartworm free and fit as a fiddle!! I am at my perfect weight an healthy!!
